The first-ever vinyl pressing of Team Sleep’s self-titled debut album is on the horizon.

Team Sleep, a post-rock project led by Chino Moreno of Deftones, is gearing up for a special vinyl reissue. Their debut album from 2005 will be released on vinyl for the first time ever as part of this year’s ‘Record Store Day’ on April 20th. Along with being remastered specifically for vinyl, the reissue will feature two additional bonus tracks, although the specific titles have yet to be revealed.

Team Sleep’s eponymous debut album, released on May 10, 2005, marked a pivotal moment in alternative music history. The brainchild of Deftones’ frontman Chino Moreno, alongside guitarist Todd Wilkinson, and DJ Crook, the album seamlessly blends elements of post-rock, shoegaze, and electronic music to create a mesmerizing sonic tapestry.

Critics lauded the album for its experimental nature and captivating atmosphere. Rolling Stone praised the album’s “ethereal soundscapes” and “haunting vocals,” while AllMusic hailed it as “a triumph of sonic exploration.” Tracks like “Ataraxia” and “Blvd. Nights” showcase the band’s ability to craft intricate compositions that push the boundaries of conventional rock music.

Team Sleep’s debut album not only solidified their place as innovators in the genre but also left a lasting impact on listeners, serving as a testament to the power of musical experimentation and creativity.
