Deftones Live @ The Wiltern Los Angeles CA, October 28, 2003 www.deftonesworld.com The first band that opened was poison the well, they were really good with lots of energy. They only played like six songs though, seemed like they shouldve gone on longer because the crowd was loving them. The next band that opened up was clutch, and i have to say they were REALLY out of place. Seriously, I dont know why these guys were at a deftones show. They were all old guys playing rock songs, and the singer looked like a bum who just started singing that night. It was horrible and they played forever. But when deftones started playing, everyone forgot about how horrible clutch was. When they came out and started playing minerva, the backdrop turned red, it was really awesome. Everyone was singing along and it was great, the energy from the crowd was incredible. For the next song, bloody cape, the backdrop changed to the album cover with the skulls and the roses. After that came my favorite song bqad and i must say it was really good, everybody was singing along to it. On one of the songs chino fell on abe's fan (next to his drumson the left side) and broke it while he tumbled on the floor. Chino started messing with his effects pedal on mascara, it was pretty cool, he had a weird flanger effect and delay on his voice. Heres the best part about that night: THEY PLAYED THE CHAFFEUER, the duran duran cover! I dont think Ive ever heard them play that live before, it was so awesome! They messed up once in the beginning but after that it was perfect--that in itself was worth 40 bucks. Chino was back to the adrenaline days headbanging and jumping around and chi was going nuts that night. he was doing this weird meditating shit with his bass and running around the stage like a mad man which was awesome. The crowd went absolutley nuts when they played headup (everybody was singing along to the chorus) and the intro to root (the biggest pit, they should seriously play this song more everybody goes insane on it) Chi brought out a microphone for stef to sing on at the end of headup (when you walk into this world..) it was pretty funny, stef was like "no way" and chi told him "you better do it"..stef ended up not singin it but it was damn funny. The only complaint i had were the actual acoustics of the wiltern made it really hard to pick out the distortion, among other things, on the guitar and the splitting of each section of the floor area. All in all I must say it was an awesome night. Heres the setlist (in this order) Minerva (extended intro) Bloody Cape Be quiet and drive My own summer MX Bored (w/Clint Eastwood in bridge) Mascara Around the Fur Digital Bath Korea Needles and Pins The Chauffeur Hexagram Headup Encore: Change Feiticeria 7 words (w/ short bits of Engine No.9 and root) -Seid ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Im going to make this short and sweet. I cant remember a time when i felt more energy in a room, then when the deftones played thier set tuesday night, Chino was on fire, his screams had to of been heard all the way back to Sacramento, and one word for the guitar, bass and drum performance.....Outstanding. -and as a closing note id like leave you with a decription of the kind of energy that was brought to the wiltern...i was on the balcony and throughout the whole show it felt as if i were on a waterbed, the whole balcony kept boun........... Sixstrings............. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This was a great fucking concert. Chino seemed tired in the beginning, but seemed to be more energetic as the show went on. Abe was a madman behind the drums. Chi was intense, throwing his bass around. Steph had some technical difficulties throughout. They attempted to play a cool medley of songs from Adrenaline in the middle of 7 words, Engine No 9 and then Root. Steph had problems with the guitar during the intro riff. But what made the show special was that the Deftones played Chauffer. I've never heard of them playing that song live before. Despite the result not sounding perfect, it was still really cool to hear a song they usually never play. Here is the Setlist (order is somewhat accurate) 1. Minerva 2. Bloody Cape 3. BQAD 4. MX 5. My Own Summer 6. Bored 7. Mascara 8. Around the Fur 9. Pins and Needles 10. Korea 11. Hexagram 12. Digital Bath 13. Chauffer (Duran Duran) 14. Headup ---- Encore 15. Change 16. Feitciera 17. 7 Words/Engine No. 9 ibanez747@yahoo.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Poison the well was up first, they put on a decent show. After them was Clutch, the shittiest band I've ever seen. Every song seemed to be 10 minutes long. I just wanted to shoot myself during their set. They pissed the crowd with their boring never-ending songs. The guy next to me told me the singer was older than his dad. The crowd booed Clutch every chance they got. After a 50 minute torture from Clutch, were the deftones. They kicked it off with Minerva, big surprise there...after that came bloody cape which got the crowd more into it. Up next was bqad, then my own summer where chino usually goes out in the crowd to do his thing. I was in the front and little did i know that Chino would come right in front of me which was the shit. I held him by the leg, he grabbed my hand a couple of times as I shouted "shove it" along with the other people. Later, during the beginning of bored a girl next to me took a picture of Chino, so Chino asked if he could take a picture of her. The girl smiled and gave him the camera. Later on hats were thrown at Chino and he wore an SP hat, then someone threw him a deftones hat so he got rid of the SP hat quick, kinda like saying "fuck this hat, I'm wearing the deftones one." There was much more interaction between Chino and the crowd than the nite before. The show was a much better one. Better songs, and a better crowd. A big surprise was to see them play "The Chauffer" which was the shit since they never play that one. Most of the crowd didn't know the song though which left me wondering what type of fans they were. I got my answer when they went crazy over "feiticeira" and "change." Chino was drunk as usual and tripped over a fan near the drums and tried to play it off, it was funny to watch. Later Chino was asking the crowd what they wanted to hear but steph cut in by starting headup. Before the headup break, Chi went to the back to get a mic, he then handed it to steph and told him to sing the "walk into this world, with your head up high" part, Steph smiled and shook his head. Chi kept pointing at steph as he looked into the crowd and also tried to get chino's attention, but chino didn't seem to give a shit. Steph didn't sing, but it was fun to watch. After headup, the band left the stage except for Steph. He lit a cigarrette and played while he waited for the rest of the band. The band came back out and played Change, followed by feiticeira, after that came 7 words and that got the place going ape shit. During the 7 words break Steph began playing engine no9 and the madness continued...after the engine break, root came and that was the shit. They only played the intro of root which sucked, but at least we got to see a tease of it. After that came the conclusion of 7 words as well as the conclusion of the show. They put on a good show, although I've seen them do better. They shoulda played more old stuff and less new. Next time, don't take Clutch on tour. They make me want to chop off my arm so I have something to throw at them. Clutch, if you read this, do yourself a favor and quit. You suck. here's the setlist in no particular order: minerva bloody cape bqad my own summer mx digital bath bored korea needles and pins around the fur mascara battle axe hexagram the chauffer headup encore: change feiticeira 7 words engine no 9 root intro 7 words part 2 sikkinixx@glassjaw.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This was my first time seeing the Deftones, and it was the sh!t. The Deftones kick ass live...Poison the well opened the show. They where pretty cool... Then it was the piece of sh!t... I mean the band called "clutch." They suck ass... I was so happy when they finished their set. Finally after they moved all the equipment for the other bands... I was nervous for some weird reason. I was so excited to see them play... The lights go off, "and the Crowd goes wild"... You see Stef first and Chi was next then Abe, Frank is in his turntables and the you see Chino with a guitar. He played the intro for Minerva and everyone went nuts... Bloody cape was next followed by Be Quiet and Drive. My Own Summer kicked ass. Then it was MX, Bored was next followed by Engine Number 9. Digital Bath and Korea where next. I think it was "Battle Axe, Needles and Pins", then it was "Mascara and Around the Fur" ( I forgot which ones went first, it could be the other way around, Hmm.) Chino was singing the chorus to Around the Fur when his foot got stuck in some of the equipment and he fell into floor while singing. He kicked what ever it was from his leg and it almost hit Stef. After Around the Fur Chino asked the crowd if anyone had Kool-Aid everyone started laughing. Then he said if anyone had Tang. He asked the crowd if anyone had cereal cause he was hungry. They started playing Hexagram and I went nuts. I dont remeber what was up next. They started playin Head Up everyone went crazy. When they where done Chino looked up at the second floor and he did that thing with his arms. I've seen it in some videos he does it when they're done with the set. They walked of the stage. Everyone started screaming "DEFTONES! DEFTONES! DEFTONES!" I got sad cause I tought they where done... It got pitch black and you could hear a guitar. The people where screaming DEFTONES even louder. You could see Chino with his guitar. It was Change... The song ended and they started playing Feiticiera, I don't know why but in this song I saw everybody singing along loud. Finally Chino says This is the last song and it's 7 words... Everyone went crazy they started jumping all over... Right before it says "Shut up you dont know me." They played ithink it was Root, (I dont remember)and then I think it was the intro for Nosebleed. And hestarted sainging the rest of 7 words... It was a great concert... (If there is any mistakes on the song list.... Sorry I was out of it... djdara25@yahoo.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just got back from the Deftones show tuesday night..and let me fucking tell you it ''ROCKED'' Poison the Well were the opening band they were Ok i guess, they play like for 30 minutes and no response from the crowd,,Clutch was next,,I never heard of the band but it seems they were around for a while cause every member was old anyway they fucking suck.. they guitarrist was trying so hard to sound like jimmy page or something very unoriginal there set seem long i was falling asleep so u ask my brother to buy us some beer which he did..now it was time for the DEFTONES!!! everyone was screaming DEFTONES DEFTONES!!! it was funny cause while they were setting up they played Mexican music and everyone was exciting specially the mexican people which was cool cuz i'm one of them :) even the white folks were excited about the music which for me it funny like hell the lights when off...and it was on!!!!!! Stef was standing on a platform and you can see was hes silhoutte he looked fucking bad ass Frank Chi followed then Abe and Chino!!!!!!!! they started off with Minerva everyone in the crowd was singing along they also played old tunes like around the fur,be quiet and drive,my own summer, bored, mascara (yeah!!!!!!) Chino ask the roadies for something to drink they bought him kool-aid he was like what the fuck Kool-aid,,in that case bring me some cereal..that shit was funny..after head up Chino wave to the crowd and said thank for coming goodbye every left the stage but Stef he was doing some killer effect riffs Chino was making some voices from backstage...in the encore they played Change feiticeira and the infamous 7words/engine no 9/Root/7words!!!!!! i definitely got my money's worth i can't wait till see them again!!! THANK GOD FOR GIVIN US THE DEFTONES!!!! SocialDRcks@aol.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- I am Kai and this is my review/story about my night at the Deftones show in Los Angeles, California at the Wiltern. First off, my friend Jeff and I could not find the damn venue. But we finally found it, little did I realize until later that the damn address for the show was on the fucking ticket! What dopes we were. Anyhow, we glad to finally be there at the show. We arrived around 6:30...and the line was all the way around the first corner almost to the Deftones' tour bus. We were standing there, and I noticed a "Pro Staff" security guard standing at the bus. So I figured there must be someone quite important in the bus...so I told Jeff to stand in line and I went to check it out. I had an inuition that it was the Deftones' bus, and I was correct. I had asked him if they had come out yet, but he said they were giving interviews in the bus, and were coming outin a few. I waited for about ten minutes or so, and Chi came out with a few other people. I was fucking shocked, I could not believe I was talking and shaking hands with Chi Cheng. I said "Can I get a pic Chi?" he said "NO! Im kidding" and I got the pic...then I bought a floor tick for 30...hmm I wondered if it was worth it, but later I was reassured that it was...Then I was sure I was going to get to the front, the security guard at the Deftones' bus mentioned only the first 200 people get a wrist band, so I ran to the front of the line and asked some chill ass couple if I could stand next to them...they said sure...and I was in! I was ecstatic to finally be in, it seemed the Wiltern was cold and damp when I first entered...later I think I realized it was the fog machines from earlier testings during sound checks that made it so damp and cold. So I made it down to the pit...then I started to wonder where Jeff was, but I knew he was alright...it was his first time coming to a 'Tones concert. I knew he was preoccupied with the notion of finally seeing them in person. For me I have seem them twice before hand, with Godsmack, and this past August with Metallica... So the show did not start until 7:45...fuck what a wait. Finally Poison the Well came out and played about 6 or so songs. I was surprised to hear them play for the first time and them sounding decent enough me that Ill be purchasing their albums soon...anyhow...they finished and I was kinda bored...then Clutrch came out...and holy fucking hell. They totally blew fat ass tuna dick...they sucked so much it was a hideous thing to listen to...I stood there with my fingers pluggin' my ears, and I was wondering, probably with the rest of the crowd "Why the fuck are they on the bill?" Their songs were so reduntant and lengthy. It killled me to watch em...They are as old as my fuckin Dad...and the drummer would not stop fucking chewing his cud...it was gross...slobering everywhere...ew....Anyhow the only logical reason I could figure out to explain why they were there was because, maybe the Deftones knew how much the suck and wanted to add a sour "taste" to the show before the dessert came out...The Deftones. Finally they Ended and the stage hands set up the 'Tones stage. The lights went out and the crowd went wild! I was fucking nervous as hell, I do not know why, but I think it was because I would be closer to the stage than ever before...so I was pumped...They entered the stage...and Steph opened the show with some quite/chill riffs with Chino prepared with his axe, ready to strike at the crowd...so they played Minerva...I was surprised they opened with a new song...Just randomly..sure there was some strategy, but maybe the strategy was to have no strategy...hmm the possibilities...Anyhow...they went through the song...I snapped some pics, and I was happy. Simple as that. Then next came Bloody Cape, and man I was surprised once again...The Tempo seemed a tad slower...I remember that much...then came Drive...and Holy Fuck I was freaking out man...then I was trying to snap some more pics...with my camera above the heads of a couple people, somehow the camera was dislodged from my hand, or it slipped out...and I LOST IT! I WAS SO PISSED! If you read this, and remember me looking for my camera and found it...I have my right lipped pierced...just so you know if you ever develop the pics...send me the pics ok :) So was totally fucking bummed...but I let it go and rememberd I was enjoy the show...then they went into Shove it...and Chino got off the stage for the first time of the night, and came right over me! He was dripping with sweat, but I didnt care. He was holding all the immediate hands that were surrounding him, and it was so fucking incredible... I remember all the hands, including mine were reaching for him...some were straining as far as they could, and it was like I was looking through this tunnel, and there he was. During the song it seemed as though it lasted forever...which was awesome, but it was like, when I was watching Chino Sing shove it, the music went away, and it was just me and him...amazing...fucking amazing. I almost got his grey wrist band on his left wrist. He was wearing his "Air Jordan" shirt with the basketball and wings...very vintage...Anyhow...the song ended and MX came on, I dont remember shit for the song, I think I was too busy trying to find my goddamn camera...then Bored came on! and the Crowd went beserk. Nuts, I mean nuts, and of course we all moshed as hard as we could, sweat everywhere...it was so fucking awesome to be a part of all the energy surging through the room. Then one of my personal faves, Digital Bath..nice and smooth, but the tempo was slow once again. I suppose its always different from when they record in the studio, to the actually show...Then Korea, which I dont remember once again. But then Mascara came on, another fave and I went ape shit. I screamed the lyrics as loud as I could...and it felt so liberating...then they shifted into higher gears and went into Around the Fur...Abe's drum beat for the song is so breath taking for me, I almost have it down fluently...then Needles and Pins...and crazy enough, I never considered Steph would play bass for a show, but he sure did for Needles and Pins...and it sounded good. Drum roll please.... THE CHAUFFEUR...I NEVER EXPECTED THIS! It was a dream come true...holy hell. Holy Shit. It was so good...I mean, I was speechless. Completely. Along with the rest of the crowd. L.A...We lucked out! Hexagram was next, but I was still reeming on Chauffeur...It was great as well...then Headup...The crowd moshed fiercely. The biggest pit of the night I think. Then an Encore...Then my all time fave, Change...It was so fucking good. Feiticeira was next...and I dont remember what happened...Then the old shit came on...it was so sick! 7-words...little bit of root...and Engine No. 9... Somewhere in there Chino wanted Cereal...fucking spontaneality that Chino posses at times fucking kills me... So the show ended sadly, and I never found my camera...blah blah...then Jeff and I waited for an 1 and a 1/2 and met the Deftones...First Chi...Abe...Then Stephan...then Chino! I got chino to draw a star on my right hand palm side down...but I didnt get any pics...more of a reason to see them again...and Frank didnt come out, or we didnt wait long enough to meet him... then we drove back to our stupid little worlds and that was the night! I will never forget it...it was the most profound night I have ever had the pleasure of living through. To the Deftones: "And God bless you all, for the song, you saved us..." -kai- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WELL, FUCK I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST ONES AT THE WILTERN, WITH MY HOMIES, WE WERE THERE SINCE 10AM, BUT FUCK THAT, IT WAS WORTH IT. WELL, I GOTS 2 SAY THAT NO OTHER FUCKING FAN GOT 2 TAKE PICS WITH STEPHEN BEFORE THE SHOW, STEPHEN ARRIVED AT 2PM, ME AND MY HOMIES PLUS THREE MORE PEOPLE CAUGHT STEEPHEN BEHIND THE WILTERN WITH HIS SWEET ASS RIDE, A FUCKING ''BMW'' WITH SOME 20'S. WE TOOK PICS, HE WAS ALL COOL MELLOW, I THINK HE WAS HIGH. WELL THE SHOW KICKED FUCKEN ASS, THE FIRST BAND "POISON THE WELL" WAS DOPE, THEIR PERFORMANCE WAS TIGHT, THEN CAME THE FUCKEN FUCKED UP BAND CALLED "CLUTCH", DAMN THEY SUCK ASS, SERIOUS. WELL, AFTER THAT THE DEFTONES CAME OUT IT WAS A GOOD FUCKEN VIEW, RIGHT IN FRONT OF CHI, WELL ALL THE FANS KNOE PRETTY MUCH HOW THE LIST GOES BECAUSE OF THE OTHER REVIEWS, WELL I THINK THE 3MOST DOWN ASS MOMENTS WERE WHEN THE FUCKEN BACKDROP TURNED RED, THEN THE FUCKEN SKULL WITH ROSES CAME DOWN I WAS LIKE THATS THE SHIT, THEN THE 2ND DOPE MOMENT WAS WHEN CHINO CLIMBED THAT STEP IN FRONT OF ME, I HAD THAT FOOL FACE TO FACE, THEN BEFORE HE GOT DOWN HE GAVE ME HIS GUITAR PICK, THAT SHIT WAS DOWN, AND THE LAST DOPE MOMENT WAS WHEN THEY PLAYED CHAUFFER, I WAS LIKE HELL YEAH, THEN NEAR THE END THEY SHIFT FROM 7WORDS TO ENGINE9 TO ROOT, AND SHIFT BACK AGAIN............. DEFTONES FUCKEN RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! def_2_tone@yahoo.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back again at the Wiltern, I wasn't able to receive a wristband but I wasn't too worried because I figured I could sneak in the pit anyway as I did the night before. The anticipation was a lot higher this night. Poison the well played an awesome set again and Clutch did horrible as expected. This set list was so amazing both nights were really good shows but the fact that they played 7 words and played engine no. 9!!!!! and root in between 7 words was so crazy I went nuts when they played engine no. 9. Also the Duran Duran cover was pretty rad and they played Feitceira, which is one of my favorite songs. This set was probably the best one because they did that whole adrenaline medley. I snuck in again to the pit with my friend and her friend thanks to the guard by the stairs to get down, that was pretty rad of him to let us go down there. Chino also had a problem with his drink which was funny and asked for a lighter from the crowd and looked in the cup with the lighter and said something like "No, I'm not drinking this", and then began asking for kool-aid from the crowd. The encore was crazy I went in the pit a little bit during the whole 7 words medley. Set list is out of order I'm sure after the first song but is in order for the encore. Minerva Hexagram Needles & Pins Around the Fur Mascara Chauffer Duran Duran Cover Mx Headup Bored Bloody Cape Be Quiet And Drive Digital Bath My Own Summer Korea Encore Change Feitceira 7 words (w/ engine no.9 & root) - carlos ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well I have a lot to say about the Deftones show last night because it was completely awesome! I have never had such an experience like last night. The day started very fucked up for me because I did not have a ticket to the show, but eventually I managed to get in by the nice, gullible ushers at the Wiltern. So I was got in when Deftones were playing MX. The fun part was trying to sneak my way to the front. I stayed in the pit for the first part of the show and when they came back out walked right to the front of the stage where people needed wrist bands. He ended up playing Change on the encore set and did a fucking awesome job with 7 words. So there set ended, but this is just the beginning of an incredible night. I spotted one of my friends and I did not know he went on road with them. I yelled his name a couple of times and he came up to me. I asked him if there was any chance of going backstage. He said wait 15 min. by a door he pointed out. I waited for about 30 min. and out came Steven Kidd (Deftones Touring Manager) I recognized him since I did see him at the Hexagram video shoot in Simi Valley. I was very excited and ended up meeting Deftones backstage and hung out with them for over an hour. I talked to Chino and I could not believe that I was having a conversation with him about what he's going to do on the road and what his plans were for Halloween. He said he might be Gilligan from Gilligan's Island. He was very cool as well as all the members. Frank had his turn tables and the next thing I see Shavo from System of a Down starts scratching. It was such fucking great experience that I (as a huge Deftones fan) will NEVER forget. I gave Chino a hug and he was on his way to the bus on his way to Vegas. He stated that he does not gamble, but he was up for some skateboarding around the Vegas strip. So if you are in Vegas, check out for Chino skating. I could get further into more details but I will keep that to myself. --KIT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ People were already starting to crowd surf and push each other around before the Deftones even took the stage. First came out Stephen Chi and Frank, then came Abe and Chino. they started their set with Minerva, as we all know to be a somewhat slow song, yet that did not effect the crowd we were just as into it as any other song. During Head Up Chi attempted to get Stephen to sing along in the breakdown but Stephen refused. finally they had played their known closing song. the song that I had been waiting for...7 Words. "this out last song" Chino said, which left me somewhat disapointed seeing that 7 Words and Bored were the only songs that were to played from Adrenaline. But The Deftones left me in awe as the started to play 7 Words and when they hit the break down of the song, they began playing Engine #9, then they connected Engine #9 into Root, then connected Root into breakdown of 7 Words. as much as I could remember their set was Minerva Bloody Cape Be Quiet and Drive My Own Summer Bored Digital Bath Mascara Around the Fur Hexagram Head Up Needles and Pins (some song I could not recognize) Feiticeira Korea Change MX 7 Words/Engine #9/ Root/ 7 Words I have never seen Deftones live before, I used to think no band would be able to be better seeing Tool, now I cant choose which show was better. 10/31/2003 Jonathan Madrigal Deftones_tool_soad@msn.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Imagine a time in your life where you found that extra $5 in your back pocket, got all green lights on the drive home, received a wink from the person you've been eyeing, or the time when your buddy told you "It's on the house." Now cram those feelings together in an hour and a half set and then you'll have experienced the Deftones live. Opening the show was Florida's hardcore band Poison the Well. The band played a powerful 20 minute set-of that, only two songs, "Ghostchant" and "For a Bandaged Iris," were off their latest release You Come Before You. Much to the audience dismay, and of my own, no one had expected PTW to have played before the band Clutch. The audience made light of Clutch by chanting boos and holding up several middle fingers throughout their set. One guy in particular was circling the pit with both middle fingers up trying to get his message across to those on the balcony. My impatience and animosity grew stronger and the only thing that put me at ease was the site of the Deftones stage being set up with podiums, one at front center belonging to frontman Chino Moreno, and Abe Cunningham's drums off to the right. Promptly at 9:30 PM the house lights turned down and the silhouettes of each band member appeared in front of a red back drop. They opened their set with "Minerva," the first single from their newest self-titled release, followed by "Bloody Cape" and "Be Quiet and Drive." The intense blast of sound over the speakers from each instrument and Chino's cat-like screams brought sparks of joy to the room that felt like tiny lighting bolts to the heart. Each note he sang more powerful than the last while bouncing around to all sides of the stage backtracking to the Adrenalin album,.with the song "Bored," which featured a cover of Gorillaz's "Clint Eastwood" in the middle. Moreno's movement was so electrified at one point that he jumped from the stage onto the platform supporting the drums, then tripped over one of Cunningham's fans, that sent him falling to the ground near guitarist Stephen Carpenter. Yet, Moreno still managed to get back up where he left off as if it had all been intentional. In the middle of the set Moreno sat in his notorious fetal position in front of the audience in the pit, who handed him hats that he kept trying on and throwing back out until he found one that fit him best; a black and white trucker hat. Later on, he returned to that position under a soft glowing light and asked to borrow someone's lighter so he could see what was in his drink. His drink didn't taste right and he asked bassist Chi Cheng and the audience if they had any Kool-Aid. "Does anyone have any Kool-Aid? Tang? You guys like Tang? Do we have any cereal?"said Moreno. The fans shouted out song titles at Moreno from every direction, begging that their voices would carry clear to the stage and that their choice would be heard. Moreno then made a comment back out to the audience which was directed more to the people in the pit. "Don't you guys ever say please? Always give me this, play that," said Moreno. He then began to play the rare Duran Duran cover of "The Chauffer." As if that wasn't enough, the last song in the encore was the beginning of "7 Words," followed by "Engine No. 9," "Roots," and then back to "7 Words" for the ending. Goodbye kisses were blown out to everyone in the audience as Moreno thanked the fans and walked off the stage, creating the perfect ending for another perfect night.
