Deftones @ Verdum, Montreal (11/14/00)
by Dan Lamframboise
-------------------
I'm writting this about 2hrs after the show :P
First came Taproot. They honestly surprised me. I mean I dont know a lot of
their stuff, but they put on a kick ass show. Just glad they did Again And
Again. At one point, the singer went all across the platform where the fans
were sitting. He went through the arena. I thought it was a cool thing to do
Then came Incubus. Now I know some of their stuff, mostly Make Yourself, but
they totally threw me down. I was so amazed of their performance. The light
show was bad ass. I can remember that they closed up the set with "Drive",
then "The Warmth" and "Pardon Me". Their best songs in my view. So they
kicked ass!
When 9h30 arrived, the lights dimmed down and the red flag with the white
pony dropped down and it was time for what we all came to see: Deftones.
They opened up with "Korea", after they did "Feiticeira". I dont recall the
rest cuz I was so much into it, that I didnt think about remembering the Set
List. It was the best fucking show Ive ever seen in my life. What I truly
loved, was when they did "Back To School" (which sounds AWESOME live)
followed by "Be Quiet And Drive"(2 of my favorite Deftones songs :)). I was
so much into it, that I didn't want the show to end. Deftones fucking rules.
For the encore they did "Bored" and "7 Words" mixed with "Say It Ain't So"
(Weezer cover). So I give them 10 out of 10 for the performance, the fact
that Chino cared about the fans by getting them to help each other out
during Body Surfing. Im gonna definately gonna go see them again.
Deftones fucking rulezzzzzz.
