During the Deftones' set, like only half of the pathetic audience stood up,
but me and my friends were singing every word, all the way from Root, the
opening song, all the way to the encore, Headup. The highlight of the event
for me was being able to hear two of my fav songs back to back, Digital Bath
and Lifter. Singing Digital Bath with Chino within the same enclosed area was
the greatest, I can die happy now. Also, during the middle of Bored, Chino
sung the chorus from that Gorillaz song, Clint Eastwood, so that was kinda
cool. And during all of this, hardly any of the audience, except us hardcore
Deftones fans, gave them any respect by standing. This guy in front of me had
the nerve to say, "Let's hear some Godsmack". If only the show had been in a
smaller venue with a pit, instead of this huge ampitheatre with lawn chairs
and shit, i woulda knocked that guy on his ass. But the Deftones fuckin
rocked, that's all i care about. Thank you Deftones for allowing me to share
emotions with you. Here's the set list, I wrote it down:
1. Root
2. My Own Summer (Shove It)
3. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)
4. Feiticeira
5. Change (In the House of Flies)
6. Korea
7. Mascara
8. Around the Fur
9. Digital Bath
10. Lifter
11. Bored
12. 7 Words
ENCORE: Headup

first off, i got there a little late so my friends and i missed puddle of
mudd, when we arrived i saw the mexican flag hanging on the amp, and i got
excited, just in time. so our seats on in the lawn, witch is okay. they
started off with all the lights off and chino singing really softly for
about a minute, then stef started in and they played root. it was awesome,
chino goes nuts, so much energy. it was also cool on mascara where chino
used 2 mics, one of them was a echo mic, later we threw down his regualr mic
and just screamed into the echo one, witch was cool. he swung his microphone
around alot and slammed it down. then about halfway into digital bath, my
friends and i said fuck the lawn, we snuck into the pavillion and made it
all the way to the first row of the upper half, we stayed there for the
remainder of the show. all in all the deftones kicked ass, once in the
middle of a song chi threw a big towel up at abe and it hit his cymbols.
chino didnt really talk to the crowd much, but he did sing all of my own
summer right in the crowd as usual. after 7 words they all left, but stef
who was making alot of strange noises with his guitar, then they all came
back out and played headup. thier set consisted of different scenes shown in
the back curtain, like a sunset and a space scene. halfway thru chino says
"now its time to wish the white pony happy birthday" and the pony logo was
shown ob the back curtain and they broke into feiticeira. it was such an
amazing performance and godsmack sucked we left after they played a few
songs. oh well another reason why godsmack sucked, they had the fuckin
stupidest cartoon thing that was about 10 minutes long before they came on.
...long live deftones...

I drove 3 hrs. to see them cause they didnt come
to Chicago....here it is
Godsmack, Deftones, Puddle of Mudd, From Zero,
Darwin's Waiting Room
The night started out kinda slow as far as music...We
got to the venue at 6:55 and POM was already playin
their set....I like them but they blew at this
show....They finish about 7:15 and then the Deftones
equipment began to show once POM's stuff was moved
off....Chino had his Mexican flag over his Green
Stack..It was still light outside but the stage was
dark....It was totally quiet and Chino was wispering
somethin in to his mic while Abe came out to his
set...then all but Chino came out...Stef let the
feedback ring off the amp...then he turned around and
started with the killer intro to Root...Chino ran out
and jumped on his monitor and did his squeal...The
whole show had this energy as all their shows
do....Song after song with so much energy....They
played for about 1 hr and 15 mins....They made
Godsmack look like pussies....all the Deftones had was
a small projection screen with images...they are so
good they dont need any bullshit props...Gaysmack had
this whole flaming rock setup....They played an Ok
set, but its impossible for a band to come on after
the Deftones....Most of the crowd was there to see
Godsmack( mostly Rednecks) but the group around was
totally into the Deftones.....maybe they have a bigger
following in Indy now.....anyways....this was a bad
ass show....not as good as the B2S Tour but still a
great show as usual....heres the set list pretty close
in order
Root
Feiticeira
Korea
My Own Summer
Around the Fur
Be Quiet and Drive
