For those of you who have never been to Tallahassee, Florida, nor have been to Floyd's Music Store,
the following review will not do justice to the performance I witnessed last night! Tallahassee is the capital
of Florida and is home to the Florida State Seminoles, but for one night, it was host to one of
the best bands on Earth.
This was my ninth Deftones show, and by far, the best.
There was no opening act. Why waste time when one wants to see only The 'Tones! They came on around
9:30pm and played until 11:15pm. It felt like the concert was in the Sahara Desert. Everyone, including the band,
was drenched in sweat. Floyd's is a very small venue. It holds 650 people, and of course, the show was sold out.
The acoustics can be questionable, but the Deftones never sounded better. It was one of those nights where
everyone was having a crazy good time!
The highlights of the show for me were Rx Queen, Passenger, Korea and the sweet cover of Sade, No Ordinary Love
(I am a little biased to White Pony).
Chino sang and screamed and shrieked all night long, never growing hoarse. He was very loose and chill.
He interacted and joked while Stef, Chi, Abe and Frank just rocked out.
One hot news bulletin that Chino told the crowd is the new album is finished and will come out on October 31, 2006,
on Halloween! What a TREAT!
Thank you again Deftones! Much love!

My second Deftones show this year. The first was Jacksonville in February. This show was completely different
but equally satisfying. No openers, Just the Deftones, about a 2 hour set. New songs, old songs (all the classics
like My Own Summer, Be Quiet and Drive, Bored, 7 words, RX Queen, Hexagram, Change, even Passenger),
The Cure and Sade Cover from B-Sides and Rarities.....Awesome. The only song left out that I desperately wanted
to hear was Digital Bath but the new songs made up for it's absence. Best part of the night was after the show
when I got to meet the band. All of the guys were so cool and seemed genuinely grateful of all of the fans that
stuck around to meet them. As if I didn't like them enough, I gained a completely new level of respect for them for
their attitudes and willingness to set aside their valuable time to mingle with the fans. They made a lot of dreams
come true Tuesday night, including mine. Thanks Deftones for being true rockers and keeping it real with the fans!!!!!
