Deftones - San Diego, CA, USA - Oct. 1, 2004
I went to the show on Fri. Oct. 1.....and let me tell you it was one of the
best shows I have ever seen. It was at 4th and B....a real intimate show.
The crowd was singing sooooo loud with and for Chino. There were a couple classic
moments..one when Chino wrapped a Mexican flag around his neck like he was
Superman and another when he kept giving props to Flava-Flav, he also had a
box of Cheer laundry soap around his neck at one point!!! They were on the top
of their game. The set was tight. A few of my favorite songs were "Can't Even
Breathe", " Birthmark" and "Drive (far away)". It was like being at an old school
Deftones show....they played almost all of Adrenaline....some Around the Fur
songs...a few from White Pony and only a few new songs. I loved every second of
it...the energy was unreal and they were flowin' I didn't watch the opening
band....I was too busy getting a few drinks before the show, but they sounded
pretty good. Anyone who missed the show in San Diego should be cryin' right now
because it was AWSOME!!!! I can't wait to hear the new album which comes out in
Spring of 2005....and I can't wait to see them again in SD!!!!!

Well this was my last show for all SOCAL shows...went to both LA shows and
Anaheim, but this show I think was was sickest yet. It reminded me of
flashbacks of Adrenaline and ATF. Chino had more energy in this show than
others...from Engine no. 9 to My Own Summer, it was great!! Not only Chino
but Abe, Stef, Chi and Frank put alot of energy to this show. It's funny how
Chino interacts with the crowd...he brought up remarks of "Computer Blue"
Dave Chappelle shows and Flava Flav from Public Enemy. What did surprise me
and gave me ULTIMATE chills was when they played "The Boy's Republic" first
time hearing it live and it was AMAZING!! The pit was insane and just
absolute Deftones for you. I'm glad I got a dose of adrenaline on my last
show, because it left a mark, as always. Anyone who'll see them throughout
the rest of the tour is up for an amazing show!! Just reminds me of who my
favorite band will always be!
