DEFTONES: 5/11/07 - Mesa Amphitheatre
We felt the guys would be well rested after having 2 weeks off between European leg, and first stop of the US Summer Tour, being us...Chino came out extremely light on his feet, flailing across the stage, as Stef layed down the edgy riffs of Korea to open…they usually open w/ Feitieira, but that was a quick second up as Abe whaled the beats! Of course the crowd really came alive w/ ‘MOS’, I was more impressed in ‘Beware’ and HITE, Chino was feelin it, he actually hit the extended high notes towards end of ea. song which he rarely does live, because it’s actually more difficult to hit than his trademark C-screams/shouts. Chino…“Good to be back in the A-Z” …“So, how many have been around since ‘Adrenaline’ …Cheers…”Wow, that means yous’ some ol’ motherfuckas…Ha-Hah!”…’Root’. Just amazing going through the yrs, Nosebleed to Lhabia to Beware and Xerces. Chino came up over the crowd on the rail, I think during Rats…it was frick-in-sane bro! They ended w/ 7 Words, extended mix w/ ‘Subliminal’ by Suicidal Tendencies...Awesome show of course!

seen them 10 times now and by far one of the best shows i been to . they played for 2 hours at least and almost the whole adrenaline album. does any one know what that song was in between 7words ?? if so share the wealth

Saw the 'tones for the 3 time last night at the Mesa Ampitheatre and it was probably the best show they've put on yet. Chino's voice was definitely on as well as the guitars. Too often I hear guitars drowning out vocals and/or vice versa so it was nice to see that everything worked out. As usual Chino seems to sing for the people, with him once again singing as he stands in the crowd. Favorite songs were Beware, Rats!Rats!Rats!, and 7 words. All in all, great concert!
