Last time I went to this festival I swore never to come again.
Needles to say I had some bad experience with it.
My girl then said 'what if deftones play? u'll go...'
And I replied 'well...THEN I'LL SEE EM SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!'
Of course, this was utter crap.
We went.
At about 17:00 we went walking to the festivalspace and got
in about half an hour to an hour later. Deftones weren't due till
19:15, but I felt nervous since we left the camping area, I wanted
to get there ASAP.
We watched Placebo, and after they played I tried to get a
reasonable spot quick. And I got one!
An hour later Deftones got on stage. After a bit of guitarintro-
stuff the first chords of 'Change (ITHOF)' could be heard. The
crowd cheered.
For the beginning of the set, the sound wasn't all that. There was
too much bass and Chino sounded a bit off at times.
Luckily, during the set it got better.
Before going into 'Bloody Cape', Chino stated that tonight there
was gonna be a party and did that 50 cents thing. From reading
reviews I knew about this and laughed out loud :) Funny shit!
And Chi went off like mad! They all did really and it was a great
view...well...everytime my head was up, just before it went down
again :)
After that Chino got handed his guitar again, and after trying,
he remarked 'my shit's broke!'
Apparently, the battery for the transmitter thingie was dead.
They went on making joked in funny accents and asked the crowd
for free shit, and if they wanted weed...cuz the got a whole bunch
of that.
After that they decided to skip the song and went into 'My Own
Summer' and closing with 'Headup'
When they left Chi remarked they will gve free shit next time.
