First of all I expected the venue to be an all outdoors-no seating area which
turned to be incorrect, seeing as how there were seats available, BUT it did have
this three feet of floor space betweeen the seats and the stage (which is where I was).
The show started at around 7:00pm with opening act Denali. As other people may
have mentioned before, they do kinda sound like team sleep but with some heavier
riffs. The lead singer sang really well and reminded me of PJ Harvey's singing style.
At least it wasn't Hoobastank seeing as how they suck. At this time the place seemed
kinda empty. the few people that were there were mostly sitting down.
Poison the well was up next and they began to take control of the crowd, there were a
couple of mosh pits and even some seats were yanked off the floor and passed around
like someone crowd surfing. The band was great! The lead singer yelled his lungs off
during the last song and even asked if anyone was from Hialeah, his hometown as well
as mine. I had the pleasure of meeting him after the show and he still isn't too
"Celebrity" to act down to earth with the fans.
Great performance overall.
Up next were Deftones with NO skull banner! Abe's drumset had that design with the two
deers just like on the hexagram single. They opened up with Minerva followed by Bloody
Cape. Chino's guitar looked so fucking tight, but he kept changing it around with the
gibson for the other songs. Steph also switched his guitar for a 5-String bass to play
Needles and Pins. During the set Chino started singing some really funny ass song, which
I didn't really recognize but a friend said it was from "Boogie Nights". He kept joking
back and forth with Chi and at one time Chi said something like "she wanna have yo baby"
referring to some girl up in the front who was yelling something at Chino. They also
played Mx in which Chino got up to where me and my girlfriend was and made some eye
contact while I was taking pictures. He also dedicated Bored to all the fans who've been
there since Adrenaline.
The whole band showed tons of energy and Chino's voice was incredible. This was the best
live show I have seen.

The concert overall was amazing!! Last concert I went to was when
Deftones played with Metallica, and that one was pretty good except I didn't
get field tickets so I was stuck in a chair really far away. This one was
the complete opposite, at the beginning I thought a small stage would be a
bad thing but it turned out i was wrong. Denali, which was the first time i
ever heard then i thought they were pretty good. Poison the Well put up a
cool show too, they were harder than Denali and that's more my style. But
now Deftones there is no comparison, they just ROCKED THAT STAGE!! I don't
really remember the song order because I was so into the music, i have been
a fan of Deftones for about 6 years so this was a great experience. But
there was an event that really hurt me, and this was actually after the
concert. After the concert a group of devoted fans, including me, waited for
about 3 hours to try to even get a glimpse of the deftones and hopefully
even get too meet them. About 20 minutes before their tour bus left one of
the deftone's road manager told us that the Deftones would come out for a
little bit and we would have the chance to meet them. The enthusiasm grew
and we all got cheered up, our waiting was finally going to pay off. But
when the bus got out, it actually didn't stop and just kept on going,
personally this really hurt me and I'm sure it really hurt everyone else. I
was the one who tried to get their attention by showing my Deftones flag as
the bus drove by, but still no one paid attention. It is true we did get a
glimpse, Chi actually waved but i wished they road manager wouldn't have
said anything and gotten all our hopes up, well what i really wish was that
i would have the chance to meet all the Deftones. People said comments as
the bus left that I personally didn't like, I'm sure the Deftones didn't
either. But well I'm still a devoted fan of the Deftones and even though it
hurt me I'm sure ill get over it. I'm sure that by the time Deftones comes
around, I will have forgotten that and i will be there again in there
concert. Hopefully that is some time soon maybe a couple of months.
