Deftones kicked ass tonight.... rocked so much harder then any other loser bands
there! chinos voice sounded awsome.... the music sounded perfect! one of the best
deftones concerts i been too! wanted to hear the new song, but they didn't play it...
wanted to meet chino after the concert but i couldn't find that mofo! AWESOME concert!

This time seeing the Deftones was my 5th time. I came early to Taste of Chaos just in case
they played earlier. As most deftones fans do, I too could not stand the opening bands.
The best performance of the ones that did play was Thrice, and that's saying a lot.
UNfortunately, though the deftones played about 11 or 12 songs, none of them were new!
AS much as I hate to say it, the Deftones are slipping away from what I believe was their
golden age, the White Pony and before years ('95-'01). Sure Chino's put on a few pounds, but
who cares?? I didnt care until Ive noticed that since the back to school tour, Chino, Chi, and
Stephen are all slower, less interesting to watch, less funny, and less fan friendly.
The first 2 shows I ever saw (pompano '00 and Myrtle Beach '03) were insane, the deftones
talked a lot and moved a lot, the songs are also gradually slowing down in tempo. I am an insane
Deftones fan, I honestly think the only fan out there that has me beat is Nuno. Ive driven thousands
(yes) of miles to see the 'tones and it hurts to say that they're just not what they used to be.
I almost wish they'd see some of these reviews and realize that they're sort of losing a lot of their
fans by taking soooo long to release each cd and not compensating with their live shows.
Anyhow, I hope with their new cd release, they rediscover their youthful performance energy and stop
misleading their die hard fans with bullshit release dates and anticipating new songs at their live shows.

And lost and certainly least, they rushed off stage, didnt say goodnight or thanks and performed
no encore, even though thousands of fans stayed and chanted "we want more!" for nearly 10 minutes
straight.
