Deftones @ Philadelphia, PA (11/24/00)

Hello All,
I just went to the 1st Deftones show in Philly tonight. I must say it was a huge kick ass.
It was absouletly great. Lets see I left my house at 5:30 and got there like 6:45, the city
is crazy! Taproot was ok but I am not a fan and the whole time I am chanting deftones in my
head. Waiting for each song to end whcih means the deftones are coming on sooner. Well then
Incubus came on, they were pretty good but I dont get why Brandon carries a bongo drum around,
i find it sort of gay but hey its his thing so its cool. I also would like to say that from
what I saw the pits sucked, nobody was doing anything exciting which makes me sick. If your
in the pit, fuck jump the hell around dont stand there like goobers. I was disappointent in
my fellow Tri State Area fans. Well again like Taproot i was waiting for deftones so i just
kept hoping they would end soon. At one point Brandon took his shirt off and I said to my
close bud dave, is that what a man is suppose to look like? We both agreed it wasnt and
continued on getting into the music. Well then the White Pony Flag dropped and hell went loose.
I dont remember the set order cuz i get to caught up in the show to worry about it. But I do
remember in the middle of Engine #9 the y busted out a few verses of Wicked and then they did
Say it aint so in 7 words. IT was rad and the whole crowd was singing Weezer together, If the
whole place United as one, then that would be the time. Everyone loves Weezer. ANyway I took a
bunch of pictures of the set and of course My man Chino, I will send them over once I get them
back. Also for those of you who have the Deftones Live Cd, you probably know about the "Boy who
lost his shoe" Well tonight for us it was the guy who lost his glasses, it was a pretty funny
event. Chino was being very dramatic. It was great. Also I have seen the Deftones before and
this was by far the best concert ever. Chino has so much going for him, everyone loves him.
Anyone who likes the deftones should go see them. I also have a little complaint, I dont
understand the banners on the net saying put Deftones on MTV, I love the deftones to beyond
no end and i Like MTV but they dont go together. Deftones shouldnt be a "TRL" band, that would
not be cool, we dont need posers! NO main stream monkey fucks! Thats all I have to say, but yes
all hail to the deftones and Ill write another review next time I see them
