It was an awesome night. Nine bands played including the deftones. Just a little bit about the other bands...... all of them played pretty good except for two. Shadow Wax (some local band from knoxville, they sucked) and Deadsy was terrible. They just acted like they didn't want to be there and didn't have fun or anything. Stone Sour did AWESOME and corey taylor ripped it up. Korn was pretty good, and Jonathon Davis kept having to take oxygen in between songs. Later on he explained how he had been sick and almost died, and how he thanked the fans for writing him because it was the only thing that got him through......definitely an emotional night for him. Fly leaf was also good and Bury Your Dead had a lot of energy. With that said, THE Deftones.......i was a little sketchy (although they're my favorite band in the world) because i had seen live videos from some of the other shows, and chino seemed off and the rest of the band didn't do all that good.....not like they usually do.....however, after seeing them in nashville, fuck all of that. They were dead on just like they were back in the old days. Chi was so into it i thought he was going to break his bass in half. Stef seemed to rock out a lot more than usual and Chino was intense the whole time...... however, he was also having a lot of fun, occasionally laughing and joking with the crowd. The only thing i didn't like was that chino didn't come down and sing with the fans on the barricade.... but who cares. They were dead on. Trust me, any musicians reading this, you would have been proud. i don't quite remember the exact set list, but they opened with my own summer and closed with 7 words. They also play nosebleed, change, btw, bqad, feiticeria, passenger (chino did maynard vocals and they were amazing) and a nice surprise that i wasn't expecting knife party. not sure if i left any songs out..........sorry if i did. they didn't get to play for too long, and it kind of pissed me off because they had a short set and korn played for like....two hours and had a huge production. however, the deftones had a green backdrop for their set with a girl on it.........maybe the album cover? who knows, but it was a cool picture for sure. it was also on abe's bass drum. well, all i can say is one of the best nights of my life, and it proved to all of nashville that the deftones are FAR FROM DEAD. -Alex
