Hello everyone, how you guys doing?
Deftones` visit in Moscow has changed my life, has changed everything. Now, when I'm walking
down the street and looking in people`s faces, I divide people into 2 groups: the first one
(minor) - those who came to the Green Theatre on the 26th of July, and the second group -
those who were not. So, this is the story: me and my 4 friends went to the Sheremetievo
airport on the 25th of July. We were waiting for approx. 5-6 hours. At last, the plane landed,
the band was busy at the customs for about an hour, but the at last i saw Chino walking thru
the customs with the skateboard and a backpack with a Wilson ball in it. I shouted ~Chino~,
but I guess, he didn't understand where the shout came from. At last, when he got out of the
customs, we ran up to him, shook his hand, I told him, that I'm very happy that they came to
Russia and that Deftones is the biggest band in the world. I repeated ~thanks~ for about 20
times. So did Chino. Then Abe came out, then Stef with Frank, and Chi at last.
Chi is the tallest member of Deftones, thats what I found out :)
We made many photos with guys in the airport, talked to them for a minute but manager asked
them to hurry up. When the went out we were like day dreaming, we could not believe this.
But then we felt like more. We went out of the airport and saw Stef smoking near their van!!!
We came up to him, all the other guys were in the car. I went to Chino, he opened the window
aand we talked for about 15-20 minutes. I could not believe Chino and all the guys are so
friendly and fine. I told Chino the my fav. song is fireal and that it blows my mind,
I asked him what they would play on the concert. Chino asked me where to skate in Moscow,
I told him, that I could show him many places, then he asked where to spend a night and
I told him that there are many beautiful places in Moscow, Chino said that he'd like so go
hang out somewhere, drink some beers and asked my telephone number!!! That was outstanding.
5 guys that met Deftones at the airport could go hang out with their favourite band!!!
When Deftones finally drove away, we were standing and looking on each other for like
10 minutes in absolute silence, like we smoked tonn of weed. Chino didn't call, I can
understand that, he was tired and busy, but I already had more, I could have imagined.
The next day they went to MTV office to give an interview (my Mom recorded it; girl who took
interview on MTV told Chino that some dorks said they were skating all night with Chino,
but Chino denied it), we met them at the MTV office, and they were like: How you guys doing,
What's up and stuff, like old friends you know. I was shoked. Deftones was my fovourite band
since ever, and they are like all of us, although they are world famous band. Then it was the
concert. We went to the Green Theatre 2 hours in advance and heard Be Quiet And Drive, which
they played on soundcheck, me and my best friend sang the whole song with Chino and we felt
like it was the best time in our lives. The show was outstanding, Chino didn't miss any part
in Bored, Digital Bath, sang Birthmark very loud and clear, without mistakes, Abe and Chi
were sweating too hard, Abe took off his T-shirt, I saw a big Cross-tatoo across his chest,
Stef was playing like God, smiling into the crowd. Chino went into the crowd for 3 times,
when he was sitting and singing Root, he looked into my eyes and we sang together, actually
I sang all the songs with Chino. Most guys and girls on the concert knew only My Own Summer
and Change and the Chorus of 7 Words (fools :) Before the last part in Around The Fur Chino
began singing: I ain't happy, I'm feeling Glad from Gorrilaz` Clint Eastwood :))) Guys ruled
and rocked hard. WHen the concert was over and me and my 4 friend went home, they were like
smiling, laughing but I was almost crying, I'm still in a very deep depression (today is 27th).
Before 26th of July (day of the concert) I had a big day, that was shining on me from the
future, but now it turned PAST, and it's very very sad, I'm still living my life, but now it's
like empty, only 3 albums make me feel better for a while : Adrenaline, Aroud the Fur and White
Pony. Deftones was and is everything for me, I will be trying to go to the USA, to be on their
concert one more time, or maybe more, but now, if you get to read this, Chino, Stef, Abe, Chi
or Frank, please come back, there's a big fan who lives his life only with music of Deftones.
