Deftones - "House of Blues" Las Vegas, NV - USA, Oct. 3, 2004

The show was at Mandalay bay, that place was nice, so beautiful inside. We
were standing in line waiting to get in, when who do we see entering like a
normal person. Chi Cheng, The master bassist himself walking around, Someone
came up to them and he gave them an autograph. Then I thought to myself "if
we would of came 2 mins earlier we could of met Chi!" Once were in there
were already alot of people there. The show started off with a dj,
apparantly i guess his name was C-Minus. He was pretty good, I thought it
was cool as hell that he played Stockholm Syndrome by Muse. After he was
done I met a new freind. I was in the middle and she was talking to some
guys i noticed her and we made eye contact but nothing happened. Then we
look at each other again and she says "I like your hat", i was wearing my
deftones umpire hat. I said thanks i made it blah blah, we started talking
and she asked me if i wanted to hang out with her and her brother after the
show. Of course i agreed. The show was fucking AWESOME they started off by
playing hexagram. Chino started doing the "WHAT?!" Chapelle style, funny
shit. The songs i can remember them playing were Hexagram, My Own Summer,
Root, Lotion, MX, Around The Fur, Minerva, Be Quite and Drive, Bloody Cape,
Engine #9, Change, Head Up Im sure they played more but i cant remember.
There were some crazy people in the crowd for one girl was trying to get
passed me while i was pretty much in the front. Im thinking, "thats not
gonna happen" so i dont/cant let her in. After awhile I feel someone punch
me in the side of my head. Me, being used to punches and kicks at concerts,
made nothing of it. Eventually she grabbed my face nad pushed me, at that
point i said "what the fuck is your problem" and she said "ill fucking kill
you" hahahaha followed by a deep hatred look. hahahaha, funny shit that girl
was half my height, half my wieght, I could slugged her and she would of
been out. But besides the psycho bitch, It was an AWESOME fucking show. At
one point i got about 1 feet away from chino. Stephen was sporting some
really nice new ESP guitars. I hardly saw any of his old models. Chi was
using is traditional Fender bass. Out of the 3 shows ive been to Id have to
say that was indeed the best Deftones show ever.

THIS WAS THE BEST DEFTONES SHOW EVER! I didn't think I would ever get
to here all the old classics played all in a row. The show was awesome.
They played for an hour and a half. And the songs were flawless. They
even previewed one of Team Sleeps' new songs- this albums going to be
good. If you like Chino's vocals this side project just takes him to a
whole new level! The House of Blues was a cool place- but they didn't
let us take any pictures. But the best part was getting to meet Chino
after the show. This guy is so nice! We took pictures and got his
autograph. Chino really shows love to his fans! He hung out and talked
to all of us for a while. Which just topped off an amazing night. I
look forward to seeing them play again when their new album comes out
and picking up Team Sleeps' new album also.

this was the worst time i have ever seen the deftones! They were so
sloppy, they acted arrogant, and they didnt care. the sound was way too
loud. they messed up a lot. deftones is my favorite band and i love them.
i would never ever say this if it wasnt true. it was so dissapointing.
i know they could do better because i saw them one year ago at cox pavillion
and they were amazing. they need to play some new shit. they need to play
more off of white pony and deftones4. i seriously almost wanted to cry after
the show. i felt jipped. they were so drunk or something. any way, ill
continue to love the deftones, always, but i guess even some band as great
as them has off nights. i guess it was their attitudes that pissed me off
more.
