Deftones @ Glasgow Barrowlands 17/9/03
Second time seeing the Deftones, and i was slightly disapointed.
I mean it was a good show but it didn't live up to their last Glasgow show,
in June at Braehead Arena (which i also reviewed). Last nights gig was too short,
but i'm sure theres tons of people who really enjoyed the show.
I have nooooo idea of the set list, or order, but it included the following in a
rough order (I think!):
Around the Fur
Minerva
Headup
Korea/Stret Carp/Something off White Pony I can't remember
7 Words!
Hexagram
Change (in the House of Flys)
Chino came on stage, looking cool as usual (how does he mannage it, it was so f@*k'n
boiling, and he walks onstage with a zipper top???), the lights go out, he stands
tall at the edge of the stage and then just lets ripp! Straight into a classic,
getting the lazy crowd moving!
Other highlight include: 1.half the crowd not knowing the chorus to 7 words
(suck/f**K repeated), but it still blowing everyone away. 2.the 'Tones performance
of Headup, along with "Random Fan Man" was a good supprise.
A good night , but not their best performance, but HUGE respect to the band, for
having the guts to play in front of such a wild crowd so soon after Chino's illness.
All we can ask for is more new stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!
