I missed all of Walls of Jericho b/c my friends showed up late, and I had to wait for them to give them their tix before I could go in. I'm really pissed about that, but what can ya do? I heard their set, and they sounded great. Check that band out if you get a chance... awesome Detroit hardcore! I caught the last song by bullets & octane. nothing special. Deadsy sucked (surprise, surprise). bury your dead was good. They had a decent # of fans and really got the crowd going, but they didn't have anywhere near the energy they had on stage @ Ozzfest last yr. I guess it's gotta be tough for them to play the kind of music that they do in front of an empty pavillion. I wasn't expecting much from 10 years, but I was pleasantly surprised. They were good live, and I liked their music. Everyone talks about Dir En Grey like they're amazing. They were good (tons of energy on stage), but not great. Flyleaf was OK. Stone Sour was GREAT. They absolutely rocked the place, and they stole the show IMO. Roy Mayorga is such an amazing drummer. The new songs sounded great live. Here's the setlist: 30/30-150 Orchids Reborn Inhale Come What(ever) May Bother Through Glass Idle Hands Hell & Consequences Get Inside Deftones were next. Not the best Deftones show I've ever seen, but they were still awesome. I wish they had a longer set, but it was a great setlist for the length they were given. It was sweet to hear "passenger" live, as well as 2 new songs. The new songs were real melodic. Can't wait for the new CD on 10/31. There were some decent pits on the lawn, especially during "Nosebleed." Here's their setlist: feiticiera my own summer beware the water (new) passenger nosebleed engine #9 knife prty hole in the earth (new) headup change 7 words After a 50-min set change, KoRn finally took the stage. I hadn't seen them since Ozzfest 2003. Even though I don't care for their new stuff, they are still really good live. They played "politics" twice b/c they're filming the video for it w/ footage from this show. That was kind of annoying, but it'll be cool to say I was there. I noticed a bunch of people w/ cameras walking around all day and wondered what they were up to. Now I know. The highlight of their set was DEFINITELY when they did "Wicked" w/ Chino. I was looking forward to that all day, and you could tell that they were having a BLAST during that song. They also did "Hollow Life" acoustic from the lawn, which was cool. I left after that to beat the traffic, but I could hear the rest of the show from the parking lot. KoRn's set looked something like this: right now twist politics (twice) love song adidas falling away from me coming undone got the life throw me away shoots & ladders wicked (w/ Chino) here to stay freak on a leash --encore-- hollow life (acoustic) twisted transistor y'all want a single blind All in all it was DEFINITELY worth the $10. I just wish Deftones played a longer set, especially since there was such a long break before KoRn. That wasn't necessary. I am still bummed I miss Walls of Jericho, but it was a fun day. GREAT bang for your buck. Peace, Kevin (Chicago, IL)
