All this work was based on websites sources, and as well, on my own spirit as a true Deftones fan. Above all I want to thank my girlfriend and the band for the work they have made 'till now, and for always being here in the worst moments. Your music was a bridge to salvation and to reality, an opening to a "dead" mind. A sample of all the garbage that this world is made of, but it had shown at the same time that inside this garbage there are diamonds and if we look closer we can find precious things as love and trust. From rage till loneliness, from pride till love, from bored till fist, from summer till damone, from a small "I" to a big "Me"... it sure helped to grow. Mentally is a gift, a true book of life. My name's Nuno Rolinho and I was born on November, 2nd 1978. I'm from Leiria, Portugal (YES I'm Portuguese NOT American). I'm a teacher. My favourite bands/artists besides the Deftones are: Explosions in the Sky, The Cat Empire, Tori Amos, S.O.A.D, Glassjaw, Radiohead, Muse and Primitive Reason. I really hate Deceit, liars, racists and "fake people", My favorite movies are:"Requiem For A Dream", "Cape Fear", "Shining", "Se7en", "American History X", "The Pianist", "True Romance", "The Jacket", "Mystic River, "Go", and so on, I'm a movie addict... DEFTONES WORLD HISTORY
December 1999 - The roots of this website started to grow in December of 1999. A beta version was published on geocities.com
January 2000 - Then I moved it to a Portuguese server (clix). The old URL was http://planeta.clix.pt/deftones It started with the name of
DEFTONES // The Biggest Band in the World, and something like 100 visitors started to visit it during the first month...I had the first critics so I knew what was right and what was wrong, so between February and June of 2000, I decided to fix what was wrong...new sections were added. Sections like defanatics, weird or song secrets were never seen in a Deftones website... This site was the first!
June 2000 - this website was already one of the top 10 Deftones websites, along with sactoca.com, thedeftones.com, bqad.net, houseuvflies.com, deftones at wickedland, minusblindfold.com, deftones.net, damone.org and of course deftones.com (the official). This was also the month that the Deftones decided to release their 3rd effort - White Pony - and deftonesworld.com was one of the best resources of Deftones info, and also the first to publish the lyrics of "White Pony" (non official lyrics).
August 2000 - August, 26th 2000 was the day that changed everything. Three days before I had the opportunity to interview Chino and to record their live performance with Fred Durst - "7 Words" - at the Ermal Festival, here in Portugal. So on the 26th, I posted a mp3 of that performance and that was one of the most wanted Deftones live songs ever. DEFTONES// the biggest band in the world was finally accepted as one of the most reliable Deftones sources on the world wide web.
October 2000 - After my second meeting with the band in Madrid, I got the chance of having pics of their tattoos. That helped my site cause weeks later I got linked by the official website - www.deftonesworldwide.com - Thanks to Donk!
November 2000 - www.deftonesworld.com was created. A new layout along with a new URL address gave me the opportunity to have my site advertised on the well known thedeftones.com, this time thanks to Brian Webb.
February 2001 - My third meeting with the band was really productive, and I realized that the band really digs this website. Something like 1,000 was the average number of visitors that started to visit this site every day.
November 2001 - Once again, I decided to re-built deftonesworld's layout. I hope that this one lasts forever
August 2005 - Finally, a new layout, much faster, compatible with firefox and easyer to navigate.
