Deftones live at the "The House of Blues" in Myrtle Beach.

Let me start off by saying WOW. Deftones murdered the House Of Blues.
I saw Tool live last year, and I did not think Deftones would be better
live, but oh...they were. Dredg, the opening band, was
surprisingly amazing! I really like their sound, so I'm probably gonna go
out and pick up their latest record, cuz theyrocked out.
When Deftones came on, I do not kid you my friends when I say this....
I literally lost my complete and total sanity. My voice, I can barely talk
and its been 2 days! I was not the least bit disappointed at the setlist.
At the setlists I've been seeing, Deftones have played a way different
setlist than the normal one. They opened with Minerva and closed with 7 Words!!

House of Blues
The moment we arrived at the house of blues, chino was outside on his mini
chopper riding around and he waved to us. I snuk in the side door to see them
soundcheck, they did rarities like fireal and bumble bee, oh and lifter and
passenger (i think they did passenger). This was my second time seeing the
deftones live, last time being a show during the Back to School Tour. They
rocked that show, but OMG! This show was 1000 times better. Everyone (the deftones)
had new equipment, drums, chino has a keyboard/synth, chi has new basses, and
stephens new guitars were all present. Not only did the deftones play a
rediculously large set, but every song was flawless. It was the Chi Chengs
b-day so they played south of hell (slayer cover) in the middle of 7 words,
then chino said "...you dont know me.." and they finished 7 words.
Stephen was really stoned the entire show and they all were drinking yet,
nobody not even once messed up. Chino kept rapping 50 cent (the b-day song)
to chi cause he turned 33. At one point a guy got on stage and finished
headup with chino. He was okay. They played:

...during the show chino played with his little new
korg synth/voice thingy and rapped and he coveres the revenge of the nerds alpha gamma
delta thing, and that was cool.
See I drove to South Carolina from South Florida so It was like 16 houyrs to see them and
I had to meet them. We waited outside and eventually Chi came out with his wife, he was
cool as fuck. Then stephen, he was quiet and stoned as fuck, then chino, he was happy as
fuck sigingg autographs and taking pix w/ fans, then abe, energetic as fuck he signed
autographs and took pics w/ us too, then finally frank, the most fan oriented one of em
all, hugging fans shaking hands signings autographs and taking pics. OH AND CHINO TOLD
ME PERSONALLY THAT TEAM SLEEP IS COMING OUT THE FIRST OF THE YEAR (2004) and no the
old vocals will not be on passportal. And thats about all I can say. ITS WAS AMAZING!!!

First Off, this was the best fucking show i've been too!! The deftones straight rocked
out the House Of Blues. Dredg opened up and were actually pretty good, but after their
set was over, everyone remebered why they were there. The DEFTONES came on about 10:00
and played until around 11:45. They played flawlessly. Chino had so much energy and put on
a great show! They tore through songs from every album, but the most came from Around the Fur.
When they played Head Up, Chino got a fan from the crowd to come up and sing the last part of
the song with him. And the guy did pretty good. Around the middle of the show, Chino with his
little keyboard/synth, broke into the Revenge Of The Nerds song which was kick ass!!!
They finished with 7 Words(Of course), only stopping mid-song to play a cover of a Weezer
song and Slayer's South Of Heaven!! The deftones rocked out and bet your ass i'll be there
next time!
