Deftones live at "Summer Sanitarium" - Turner Field - Atlanta, GA - USA 11 July 2003 www.deftonesworld.com The show at Turner Stadium in Atlanta was pretty good. I was there just to see Deftones, i thought the 80 bucks was worth only seeing them. I was dissapointed at the fact they had such a shitty spot on a tour with shitty bands. I was hoping they would have more time and i was hoping there would be more that 5 deftones fans there. I thought they played well and sounded great. It was my first time to see them. It was what i expected from them. I was pleased. 1. change 2. my own summer 3. nosebleed/say it aint so 4. minerva 5. seven words 6. bloody cape 7. around the fur Nick038@aol.com -------------------------------------------- Overall, the SS show in Atlanta on Friday was very good. Mudvayne, LP, LB, and Metallica all did very well, but the Deftones were the reason I was there. Once again, simply amazing! Others can sell more albums, have more fans, etc., but none will have the passion that the Deftones bring to the stage. Being a huge fan, I of course, am bias towards them, but I can truly say that I would have preferred them play 5 times then listen to the others. One disappointment - like the other reviewer stated, there were only about 5 of us Deftones fans there. A couple of pits broke out and there were several people there supporting them, but it was nothing like a club show. In a show where they are headlining, the floor is like an ocean. There's nothing better than being around the loyalty of the Deftones faithful in full swing. And unfortunately, at this show, not many were getting into it. After a few sound problems to begin with, they opened up with Change which was a blessing as always. My Own Summer followed as Chino crowd surfed and screamed his lungs out into those who actually cared. They were only allowed about 40-45 minutes to play which was another pain we had to deal with. I was disappointed that they did not play Be Quiet and Drive or Hexagram, but the show was awesome. The set list was as follows (and in order): Change My Own Summer Headup Nosebleed Minerva Around the Fur Bloody Cape Seven Words (Say It Ain't So in between) Deftones forever!!! Brad, 23 Montgomery, AL ----------------------------------------- i bought my ticket just for the deftones...i had sits but i was close enough to see one of my favorite bands...before they started change they played this really kool ambient intro to change...Chino seemed like he was high but he was still amazing, when they played SIAS Weezer, they did this kikass quietpart on the verses and kiked in during the chorus...Chi did he's usual freak-out crazy thing which i wanted to see again... Stef was just plain Metal...Abe had a new kikass drum set, black w/ gold trim, it had the bandaged lamelovers on the bassdrum head...and Frank was chillin'...it was a good old school setlist, i was exspecting more from the new album but i was satisfied w/ the old-school...i think they blew every band away that day...the big M. was kool though...a good deftones show, i have seen better but...DEFTONES Sac., CA! intro/Change MOS(SI) HeadUp Nosebleed 7Words/Say It Ain't So (badass!)
