I have been to many, many Deftones shows. For those of us that have watched them over the many years, this time around has got to be the absolute best. You can see on the boys' faces that they are genuinely having fun. Chino was interacting with all members of the band. He was smiling and jokingly called Steph's guitar a "Barbie Camo" Guitar (it's a pinkish, gray and white camouflage). Chino got into the crowd for HEXAGRAM and the place went off. Both Chi and Steph were interacting with the crowd and most of the time you only saw their hair flying around while they were playing. Abe played flawlessly and the amount of energy the band expelled was tremendous. I have been to 3 of their shows in the last 2 weeks (Virgin, Ventura, and LA) and will be at one more in San Diego. Each set has been slightly different and then at the LA Show they busted out KIMDRACULA and KNIFE PARTY with Rodleen Getsick! They played nearly 2 straight hours! New shit played: Hole in the Earth, KimDracula, Cherry Waves, Beware. Can't wait for Soma! -El Hefe ------------------------------------- OMFG!!!! Night # 2 @ The Avalon here in Los Angeles was really brutal!! I had never witnessed a brilliant set in all the shows that I've Deftones play. Deadsy bored the crowd, but Deftones really made up for it. Chno's mom and family were there and they enjoyed the show. They played songs I had never heard and System of a Down was there supporting Deftones what a fucking night!! Oh, David Blaine was also there, I think he was there upon Stef's request. Setlist not in order.
